Capital Conquest is a turn-based strategy game covering all 172 countries in the world. You start in charge of one capital. From there you can invade a neighbor, build up your army first, or wait while your rivals fight each other.

Every country has its own borders, coastline, and starting strength, and the AI factions follow the same rules you do. Alliance blocs are based on real-world groups: NATO, the EU, BRICS, the SCO, and others. These affect who is likely to help you and who is working against you. Countries you're not at war with can offer you an alliance on their own, and you can do the same to them.

Hold enough territory and your conquered nations combine into an empire on the map. You can name it yourself. The game also tracks eleven separate commendations for how you won: fast, without losing a capital, alone, or with nukes flying.

The AI factions expand, form alliances, and turn on each other independently of what you do, so the map looks different by turn 20 depending on what they decided while you weren't looking.
